Jerry Erneston is the co-founder of J&J Produce with his brother Jimmy.  The two are identical twins, and the similarities go beyond just their looks.  “We think a lot alike, and that helps when you’re building a business together,” Jerry says.  The two brothers grew the business “from nothing but a shoestring,” and it was the dynamics of each brother’s personality that was behind their initial success.  “It’s just like a husband and wife — if you had the same personalities it wouldn’t be much fun,” he says.

Jerry has been instrumental in growing our Immokalee, Florida and Hendersonville, North Carolina branches.  Jerry is able to build lasting relationships with growers in the same way that his brother Jimmy does.  These operations have turned into an important element for J&J’s year-round supply chain.  “I knew that if I made some contacts, and treated growers the right way, that we would have a real good business up here,” he says.  “I’ve made a lot of friends and that’s the key.”
