Kohl grew up on the slope of Signal Mountain in Chattanooga; he eventually traded the mountains of Tennessee for the flatlands of South Florida.  After first studying in Tennessee, Kohl completed his degree at Palm Beach Atlantic University.  In 1995, while still in college, he began his career at J&J.  Kohl worked his way from the warehouse to the sales room, where he found his niche.

Kohl has over ten years of experience in produce sales, and he has been a key driver of J&J’s growth over that period.  He has been the primary contact for J&J’s two largest accounts and is heavily involved in expanding J&J’s retail strategy.  Kohl continually works to improve J&J’s service levels and focuses on building long-term partnerships with customers.  His role also includes overseeing J&J’s Sales and Sourcing team and directing the interaction between Sales and Operations.

Kohl is proud to be a husband of fifteen years and a father of two children.  He is an avid hunter and fisherman.  Kohl has never forgotten his Tennessee roots, and has brought his Volunteer spirit with him to J&J.  He coaches pee-wee and junior-high football and is actively involved in his church.

“J&J is known for its service and quality,” he says.  I learned early in this business that the minute a customer loses confidence in you, you’re finished.”  Kohl relishes the challenges that he faces every day.  “We are constantly problem solving in the produce industry.”  Kohl notes that it’s the inherent uncertainty in the produce industry that keeps his work interesting.  “I always look forward to the challenges,” he says.
